T1D Networking Coffees – JAVA with JDRF
Social meetings for parents, caregivers and anyone with insulin-dependent diabetes. Meetings encourage dialogue about the dynamics of living with diabetes and provide a forum to connect with others impacted by the disease. Coffees are held every first Thursday of the month at Biggby Coffee in Cricket West (Secor and Central) from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Medtronic Diabetes Educator, Robin Cutcher, RN, BSN, CDE, will lead the discussions.
Fundraise for JDRF at the Glass City Marathon
Run or walk a marathon or half marathon and be part of JDRF’s effort to find a cure. Living with type 1 diabetes can be like completing an endurance event…except it goes on day in, and day out…the dietary restrictions, the multiple daily blood tests, and the injections of insulin seem endless. With your support, we can advance the research that will lead to better treatments, and eventually a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Join JDRF in your training for the Medical Mutual Glass City Marathon on April 27, 2014, and together we will cross not only the finish line, but also the finish line to a cure! Click on the banner for more details.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday, September 21 for our Walk to Cure Diabetes event. The walk was a huge success and we couldn’t of done it without your support! Please check back on when registration will open for our 2014 Walk to Cure Diabetes event.
Raise valuable funds for diabetes research and experience the thrill of completing an endurance cycle event for JDRF. Destination rides offer the participant a wide range of travel options, in addition to ride lengths for cyclists at any experience level.
A number of individuals, corporations and service clubs create fundraising events with proceeds to benefit JDRF. If you would like more information and a list of JDRF community events, click here or to start an event for JDRF, please email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
