About Us

JDRF NORTHWEST OHIO

JDRF Northwest Ohio serves the City of Toledo and 13 counties surrounding the city, including: Monroe (Michigan), Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams, Wood and Wyandot.       Our primary goal is helping support national research with local involvement.

Locally, JDRF receives support from two events (Toledo Walk at Ottawa Park and North Coast Poker Run in Lakeside-Marblehead).  Our branch receives support from local corporate leaders and the community in which we reside.

JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate for research on type 1 (juvenile) diabetes and its complications.

The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Founded in 1970 by parents to find a cure for diabetes, JDRF has directed more than $1 billion in grants for diabetes research to the world’s leading laboratories, universities, and medical centers.
